Technical Reporting

Our 8%-scale F/A-18E/F and EA-18G wind tunnel model installed at NASA Ames 11-by 11-foot Unitary Plan Transonic wind Tunnel

I wrote a detailed wind tunnel post-test report summarizing the effects that a major airframe change had on aircraft performance. Although not required, I took it upon myself to create this report because the wind tunnel test was a Navy-ran test led by me and my team without any contractor data reduction support. My final report documented the data quality of the wind tunnel facility, the collecting and processing of the data, and the final impacts to aircraft mission performance (e.g., range, endurance, and combat maneuver capability). These types of analyses would usually be delivered in several different reports by a contractor over a stretched-out schedule. Because of my efforts, the Navy did not have to rely on contractor support to perform and document this work, which ended up as a cost savings to the government.
